JP Rangaswami ist CIO bei British Telecom plc. Er studierte Wirtschafts- und Statistikwissenschaften am St. Xavier's College und an der University of Calcutta mit dem Schwerpunkt Entwicklungsvolkswirtschaft.
Als Wirtschaftswissenschaftler und Finanzjournalist arbeitete Rangaswami seit 1980 in mehreren internationalen Unternehmen in den Bereichen Finanzen und Technologie. Er wurde zum CIO of the Year 2003 vom Waters Magazine und zum CIO Innovator of the Year 2004 vom Europäischen Technologie Forum ernannt. Bevor er zu BT kam, arbeitete er als Global CIO bei Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein.

As an economist and finance journalist Rangaswami worked in several international corporations in the areas of finance and technology since 1980. He was nominated as the CIO of the Year 2003 by the Water Magazine and as the CIO Innovator of the Year 2004 by the European Technology Forum. Until he started his employment at BT, he worked as a Global CIO at the corporation Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein.
