Gunter Dueck ist Chief Technologist bei IBM. Er studierte Mathematik und Betriebswirtschaft und promovierte an der Universität Bielefeld in Mathematik. Nach 10 Jahren Forschung und seiner Habilitation 1981 war er fünf Jahre Professor für Mathematik an der Universität Bielefeld und wechselte 1987 an das Wissenschaftliche Zentrum der IBM in Heidelberg.
Aktuell ist Gunter Dueck einer der IBM Distinguished Engineers, IEEE Fellow und Mitglied der IBM Academy of Technology und IBM Master Inventor. Er arbeitet an der technologischen Ausrichtung von IBM mit, an Strategiefragen und Cultural Change. Dueck ist Mitglied im Präsidium der Deutsche Mathematiker-Vereinigung und des Strategiekreises Informationsgesellschaft der BITKOM.
Gunter Dueck is a Chief Technologist at IBM. He studied maths and economics and has a PhD in mathematics at the University of Bielefeld. After 10 years of research and his habilitation in 1981 he was employed as a professor for mathematics at the University of Bielefeld until he started working for the Scientific IBM Centre in 1987 in Heidelberg.
