Alexander Linden ist CEO von HumanGrid in Dortmund, einem Onlinemarktplatz für kognitive Datenverarbeitung.Zuvor war er fast acht Jahre beim Consultingunternehmen Gartner tätig, zuletzt als Research Vice President für neue Technologien, war weltweit u. a. verantwortlich für Web-2.0- und Web-3.0-Technologien, und er entwickelte auch den heutigen „Hypecycle" von Gartner.
Vor dieser Tätigkeit war Linden Senior Experte in der Abteilung Strategische Technologien von General Electric in den USA, Postdoktorand in Berkeley und wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter der Fraunhofer IAIS bei Bonn. Parallel zur letzten Tätigkeit hat Dr. Alexander Linden im Bereich Informatik an der Universität Bielefeld promoviert.

Before joining HumanGrid, he worked for the consulting firm Gartner for almost eight years, most recently as Research Vice President for new technologies. At Gartner, Linden's areas of expertise included Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 technologies worldwide, and he developed the "hype cycle" which Gartner currently works with.
Prior to his career at Gartner, he was a Senior Expert in the Strategic Technologies department at General Electric in the US, held a post-doctoral position at the University of California in Berkeley, and was a research assistant at Fraunhofer IAIS near Bonn. While working at Fraunhofer, Linden earned a PhD from the Universität Bielefeld in the field of computer science.
