Google vs. Microsoft

Das Ajaxblog hat Top 8 Reasons Why Google will Pwn Microsoft in the Web-based Office Wars. Besonders lieblich für alle Microsoft-Kritiker:

I personally believe a major handicap at MSFT is that they have to use their own dogfood, which doesn’t taste as good as some of the open-source alternatives (Ruby, Python, etc.).
Die wichtigsten Gründe:
  1. Writely, der Word-Killer
  2. Google Spreadsheets, der Excel-Killer (Start: morgen)
  3. GMail und Google Calendar, die Outlook-Killer-Combo
  4. Google Presentations, der Powerpoint-Killer (to be released soon)
Bei diesen Vergleichen gilt es eines im Kopf zu behalten: Es geht nicht darum, die hochgezüchteten Office-Dinosaurier von Microsoft mit allen Details im Web nachzubauen. Vielmehr reichen wahrscheinlich die wichtigsten zehn Prozent aller Funktionen, um 90 Prozent des Marktes zu erobern.
